Lender Protection Guarantee

So you can have a peace of mind

Our aim is to foster a community of sharing with trust and care. While lending, should your item be mishandled or stolen, we’d like to have your back! When you lend with MyRent, every item is covered by our guarantee up to RM3,000.

In a nutshell

MyRent will cover your loss up to RM3,000 - which, at the discretion of MyRent, could be paid in kind or a replacement item.

Eligibility

If you’d like to claim for your losses, please prepare the following documents in order for us to assess the validity of your claim:

1. Contact us within 24 hours of the end date of rental period
2. Images and/or videos of the item in working condition prior to renting.
3. Details of exact item specification and purchase price along with URL of an e-commerce (eg: Amazon, Lazada, etc) listing of the exact product, if available.
4. Proof of purchase of the item (eg: Credit Card receipt, etc). Optional.
5. Both, borrower and lender, are verified users on MyRent platform. You can see your verification status in Profile section of the app.
6. Borrower is unwilling to reimburse and/or is uncontactable.
7. Full payment for the rental transaction is made on MyRent app, using a Credit Card only, Debit Cards are not covered under lender protection.
8. Currently this program is only valid for rentals taking place in Kuala Lumpur / Selangor. Both the lender and the borrower need to be based in Kuala Lumpur / Selangor when the transaction would have taken place.
9. You can only make a maximum of 2 claims on MyRent platform in a span of 5 years. Excluded for business accounts.
10. Written evidence of a demand being made against the Borrower for any loss, damage or theft, together with a police report and police reference number.
11. Without being limited, any other documents or proof of items or of any loss or damage that we at our sole discretion deem necessary to support your claim.

Exclusions

Prohibited items as per our terms and conditions, real estate, chemicals, liquids or any consumables, cars and other motor vehicle, minor/cosmetic damage that does not affect the functionality of the item and public liability. MyRent reserves rights to modify the list of excluded items from the Lender Protection Guarantee.
